Around the World: Discovering Ireland
We continue our “Around the World” journey, a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to different cultures in a respectful, sensory and meaningful way. This time, our destination has been Ireland, a country rich in history, nature and fascinating traditions.
The classroom has been transformed into a small Irish corner. Through images, objects and experiences, the children have been able to discover some of the most representative elements of this country: its green landscapes, its tricolour flag and its most well-known symbols.
One of the most special moments has been the introduction to Irish music and culture. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to traditional melodies and moving freely, expressing through their bodies what they felt. We also explored some interesting facts, such as the famous shamrock, a symbol of good luck.
In addition, we have used this experience to promote fundamental values such as respect for other cultures, curiosity about the world and openness to new realities.
This journey to Ireland reminds us that, even within the classroom, we can open windows to the world and inspire in children a desire to discover, learn and understand the diversity that surrounds us.
